Aerobics is a moderate intensity exercise regimen that is done for a certain period of time and it increases the intake of oxygen in the body during this process. It increases the metabolic rate of the body by increasing the consumption of oxygen. Aerobics helps in improving muscular strength, maintaining the body shape, reducing weight, increasing flexibility and cardio-vascular fitness through physical exercise. An Aerobics workout is often defined as the repetitive physical activity that is done over a long period of time in order to enhance respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
Aerobics is turning out to be the most preferred from of exercise with today's youth as it is not monotonous and less stressful than the other forms of exercising. Simple activities like climbing up the stairs, brisk walking, jogging and doing the household chores which do need any special supervision and special training too fall under Aerobics. Running, skipping, swimming and cycling are the other popular forms of Aerobics that are popular with the young and the old alike.
